The Blower Door
Reducing Building Heat Loss via Thermal Imaging for Domestics and Commercial Properties
Thermal imaging is an extremely effective technique for immediately detecting temperature differences, heat loss and other thermal anomalies with in a buildings envelope. We use a proven inspection procedure for both residential properties and commercial properties that allows us to survey a property both internally and externally to highlight heat loss and energy wastage.
We are qualified thermographers and our survey are conducted to the BRE Report 176 standard, we only conduct surveys in suitable weather conditions using professional equipment. We conduct surveys for domestic and commercial clients across the UK.
Our heat loss surveys are extremely cost effective and easy to set up so contact us today for a free quote for a professional heat loss survey on your property.
Preparing for a Air Tightness Blower Door for a
Thermal Imaging Survey
Take the following steps to prepare your building for an air tightness blower door test:
- Close window and outward doors and open interior doors.
- Turn up the thermostats on heaters to gain a 10-12 degree temp differential
from the interiour to exterior air temp. - Seal any extractor fans over cookers and in bathrooms.
- Turn off HVAC system.

Reducing Heat Loss
You can use thermal imaging to identify and locate many problems within a buildings envelope and help reduce heat loss.
Building Applications
- Heat Loss
- Draught Proofing
- Wet or Missing Insulation
- Flat Roof Leaks
- Water Damage
Energy Conservation
By having a thermal imaging survey of your property we can produce a report highlighting our findings and include recommendations.
